Rules & Protocols

In order to access the lab a procedure needs to be followed, please read it carefully and follow it.

The Rules stated in this section need to be followed at all times and by all users of the SIL-EE lab. Please read this section with extreme attention. Don't hesitate to contact the lab assistants for any questions or doubts you may have.

Each lab-room has a series of rules that have to be applied and followed at all times, these rules can be found in the following section: General Lab Rules. In addition to the general rules, it is important to follow the safety rules to minimize the risks in the lab at all times (for users and for the machines). The Safety Rules can be found in the following section: Safety Rules.

To get access to the room you are also required to fill in the Safety Forms and send it by email to sil-ee@utwente.nl. Please do this before you request access to the room.

Safety Forms

Safety forms are a mandatory component of our research protocol. Researchers intending to use our facilities must complete the Researcher Version of the Safety Form, specifying the Research Group and the specific equipment they wish to use. Additionally, we kindly ask you to provide a small description of the project you intend to work within our laboratory. This information will help us keep track of the research and can provide more advance tools or potential interesting innovation in your field of interest.

For students enrolled in Master's or Bachelor's programs, it is essential to indicate the Module they are currently in and obtain the signature and authorization from their Module Supervisor. Access to our facilities will be only given upon this approval. The access will be revoked at the end of each module.

Master's students doing their thesis projects are required to state this in both the Safety Form and their corresponding email communication. By doing so, we will be able to extend their access to our facilities for six-month, thereby facilitating the completion of their research.

More details about how to fill in the Safety Form and what are the Requirements can be found in the Getting Started. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to email us.
